Desert Camping Trip

On December 21 we took our first desert camping trip to a spot in the dunes between Al Ain And Abu Dhabi. We joined 3 other families for a grand total of 9 kids under the age of 6. This is the ride out to the dunes through endless seas of sand. The roadsides, even out here in the middle of nowhere, are irrigated with surface drip lines running for kilometer after kilometer to create that sense of lush landscape (!)

Feeling fierce after participating in a NIA demonstration for Body Tree Studio. This is by far the best piece of art I've seen in Abu Dhabi.

Happy Hanukkah!!

This is our menorah on the third night of Hanukkah. For eight nights we celebrate the miracle of Hanukah by lighting a candle, singing songs, and getting presents! The candle on the left is called the shamash and you use it to light the others, so it doesn't count.

She's Finally Here!!

Our cat Sarsaparilla arrived from Boston last night. We waited for her for months and months but she is really here! Yippeee! Thank you to Leslie for taking such good care of her.

Back from Hospital

Pau was still getting over his pneumonia. You can tell because he is so pale and serious.

It's Not So Bad

Pau was smiling through most of his hospital stay. By this time they had detached the IV and he was off the nebulizer and on the mend.

Papa and Andrés came for a visit.

Mama counted her blessings that this was going to be the last day in the hospital.

I managed to have fun even in the hospital. Once the IV was taken out I could play much better.
