A few days ago I was driving Pau to nursery school. He was in the back seat and sneezed. I looked back at him and he had covered his face with his arm to prevent spreading germs.

"Wow," I said, " that's great that you covered your face when you sneezed. Who taught you how to do that?"

"Naida," replied Pau.

"Aunt Naida?" I asked.

"Yes. Grandma Judy's sister Naida," said Pau.

"Aunt Naida knows many things," I said.

"Yes she does. But I know more things!" said Pau. Uh oh.

A special afternoon - I picked up Andrés from school and we headed out for , "round donuts"

nothing quite like a Abu Dhabi style choo choo ride - inside the mall.

Dates Dates Dates

Our wonderful house guest Ruud was enlisted to climb our palm tree to harvest some dates.
Yield from one of our two trees = 15kg
And they're sweet as can be.

Career Planning

Today Pau and I were playing with some doctor toys after nursery school.
Then, out of the blue he says, "When I grow up I want to be a doctor."
"You do?" I asked. "Why?"
"To help people feel better," he replied.

Later the same afternoon Andrés brought home a drawing from kindergarten. The xeroxed text on the page said, "When I grow up I want to be:"
I asked Andrés what he wanted to be.
"A doctor." he said. "Well, a guy on a space ship."
"Do you mean an astronaut?"
"Yeah, an astronaut doctor on a space ship."

Hmmm. . . . Genetic?
